First use may be the last. My bike weighs under 400 lbs. and there was no way it was going up with the tiny "wrench" supplied with it. A longer wrench worked until the cheap bearing exploded and spewed balls everywhere. I ended up rocking the bike onto wooden blocks to get it off the lift. I took it apart thinking i would replace the bearing and saw the rod bent and teeth very worn. The inner collar is a hex nut with a set screw drilled/tapped into it! I''m going to try and rebuild it but don''t hold out much hope. Not worth sending back. Buyer beware.

It is the lowest jack I have found and it is built very sturdily. Recheck your bike''s clearance by actual measurement. You will get some added clearance by running the front wheel up on a piece of 1x6 or 2x6, also place same thickness under your stand. Good luck.
This is my original review: See extra 2 attached photos.
This sturdy jack is perfect for the very low clearance of my 650# Harley Dyna. I only lifted the front end but feel confident that the jack would easily support the entire bike. The manual lift operation is smooth and tight. I fixed a 4 x 4 length of wood to one of the extensions at the jack base and attached lashing straps which helped to stabilize the bike. (Additional lashing straps to ceiling of garage, too). Did not include rebber on the supporting surface so I cut up an old bicycle tube...works fine. A good purchase.

I ''fixed'' a few issues before using it:
As seen in the marked picks, there could be some problem areas. In my case the locking nut was not properly secured on the shaft and that lead the thrust bearing to open and release the balls... I added a washer on top of the locking nut and also worked with a needle-nose pliers on the bearing''s case in order to prevent that from happening again when picking up/tilting the lift jack.
A side bolt wasn''t properly installed, so pls make sure you check all the bolts before using it.
I also straightened the included brackets as seen in pic#2. My guess is that the welding curved the metal.. This is not an issue at all since the weight of the bike would keep the brackets in place...

Anyways, as the title says, this is a usable lift jack. I used it a few times, it feels stable. The quality control did not impress me one bit: unfinished setting up of the product and deep scratches on the nice paint....

UPDATE:
I will downgrade from 4 to 3 stars as the jack''s thrust-bearing busted open on the latest use losing 3 of it''s balls... it could be a real safety concern as it would drop the bike a minuscule amount (if enough ball bearings fall out) enough to scare you, or pinch your hand.. it still functions as intended once the bearing is replaced with strong washers.. lubricating the washers makes it smoother than with the thrust bearing...
I wouldn''t choose this product again, as there are too many issues to attend to before using it.

I have a Harley Ultra Limited touring bike which I wanted to lift up to ''put on blocks'' for the winter in my garage. The bike is very heavy at 910 pounds (curb weight) so although this jack is rated for 1100 pounds, I was still cautious to elevate the bike supported by nothing except this jack.

I put this jack in the middle of the bike frame, raised the bike, placed two 4X4 pieces of wood on either side of the jack, then lowered the bike onto the wood blocks. Wow, easy-peasy and worked perfectly!

The 2 included black screw in frame adapters are a good idea but did were not needed in my case as they were too tall to fit under my bike''s frame. Since the bike could easily slip off the the slippery metal top of the jack, I took the advice of another reviewer and used some rubber shelf liner- this worked perfectly. Also the supplied jack crank is sufficient, I would recommend using a socket wrench and 7/8" deep well socket- this makes the job of lifting the bike much easier.

In summary, this jack more than met my expectations. I am very pleased with it and highly recommend it.

I wanted a lift that could lift the front end or back end of my bike. I don''t need to lift both ends up at the same time. This lift does the job. Also, I wanted a lift that was not too wide, so that I could get clear and easier access to the oil drain plug and to the oil filter. This lift has a smaller width than the wide scissor jacks in this price class, and that''s why I chose it over the wide ones.

Before buying this lift, I purchased a pivot lift -- one of those lifts that you use a lever to lift the bike up. When I tried to lift up my heavy (over 600 lbs) bike, the lever bent, much to my amazement, even though the pivot lift had V Star 1300 in the product description.

The V Star 1300''s engine protrudes slightly below the chassis frame bars. Much has been written about how to deal with that while lifting the V Star. One recommendation was to use hockey pucks. So I bought cheap hockey pucks (4 for $11) and use two of them -- one for the left side and the other for the right side of the bike. I place each puck on top of the lift and right under the frame rails. That does the trick. There is enough clearance to place the lift under the bike and the hockey pucks on top of it.

My bike is too low to use the two extensions that come with the lift (colored black and shown in the picture), so they are useless for the V Star. That''s OK, since I use the aforementioned hockey pucks. Also, another trick is the following: I went to Home Depot to get a small piece of lumber (a 4x6 by around 1 foot length). I slip that under my kickstand to level the bike, then I place the lift (and hockey pucks) under the bike. Then I crank away to lift the bike just high enough to have both wheels slightly touching (for work on the bike when I want to keep it level, such as oil change), or high enough so that either the front wheel or back wheel is slightly lifted, to do work on the forks, etc. My first job, and the first reason why I bought this lift, is to tighten down my steering nut.

It''s narrower than a lot of the competition, but as far as I''m concerned that''s a plus because I can move it forward or to back enough to raise only one wheel. To use it for a stand that raises both wheels off the ground it probably needs another support, like perhaps a jackstand or maybe tiedowns to make it stable enough. It''s quite lightweight, but still lifts my KLR 650 without any flexing, and the removable/adjustable frame support buckets are a perfect fit for raising the rear wheel on this bike also. I take them off for my Honda XR250R, so have the option of using these makes this lift so very much more adaptable to different bikes. I use a cordless impact wrench to raise and lower it; Zip it up and down in a second while holding the bike stable with the other hand makes using this this a breeze!

Which means that normal bike jacks don''t fit under the bike, and you really shouldn''t lift the whole bike by the engine itself. This thing slides under there perfectly. And I was skeptical about this at first, because the images online make it look kinda dinky and flimsy. But it''s actually pretty dang heavy, and the scissor lift mechanism experienced no strain whatsoever. The turn wrench that comes with it works great, but you''ll find a long socket wrench and a 22mm socket will be a lot easier on your forearms. I love this thing, and would recommend it to anyone.
